The Laramie County Library Foundation was established in 1977. The Foundation exists to further the goals of The Laramie County Library System and to seek private support to fund services and programs that tax dollars do not cover. The Foundation seeks to expand LCLS’s ability to serve all the people of Laramie County in an equal fashion.
The members of the Foundation Board of Directors help to create dynamic community centers where young and old alike can gather to learn, read and connect with each other and the world around them, all inside the Laramie County Library facilities.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community-based organization. To date, the Foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding for the System to support building a new facility, innovative programming and services and the expansion of our award-winning collections. Without our generous donors, expectations of the library patrons could not be met.
The Foundation Board of Directors work to enhance and enrich the decisions concerning the library programs, services and needs as determined by the LCL System Board of Directors and the County Librarian and staff.
Meeting once a month, the board consist of no less than five and no more than 21 members. If you are interested in serving the library in this capacity, please contact the Foundation.
Vacancies, if there are any, are filled every September during the annual meeting.
