Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Borrowing

Items that are not owned by LCLS may be requested through interlibrary loan (ILL). Requests may be placed at any Ask Here desk or through WYLDCat, the online catalog. We can request books, books on tape/CD, music CDs, movies, video games and magazine/journal articles.

There is a charge of $2.00 per request, and a 50 cent fee if you do not pick up the item by the date indicated on your notice. If we print an article for you, there is a fee of 10 cents per page. Please return the paper band and laminated tag attached to the item; there is a fee of $2.00 ($3.00 for out-of-state items) if they are not returned. Fees charged by the lending library may be passed on to you.

Most items will arrive within a week, but it may take longer if an item is shipped from out of state or is difficult to find. New books, textbooks and reference books may be difficult to obtain. We will notify you by letter or e-mail when the item is available. Please check the hold pick-up shelf on the first floor for your item.

Most books and books on tape/CD can be checked out for three weeks. Most movies and music can be checked out for one week. Renewals may be possible; please contact the third floor Ask Here desk before your item is due.

ILLs and Genealogy Materials

Wyoming residents can request LCLS genealogy materials through their local county or community college library. There is no fee for loans of genealogy materials to Wyoming library patrons.

Genealogical books and microfiche that are ILLs are loaned for in-library use only for a three-week period and renewals are not allowed. The physical condition and amount of local use may prevent the loan of some materials but arrangements for obtaining information contained in the material are usually possible.

LCLS may also loan materials to out-of-state residents. Requests should be placed through the borrower’s local library and a fee of $18 per volume must be paid in advance. Materials are loaned for in-library use only for a three-week period and renewals are not allowed.

LCLS can often borrow genealogical materials from other libraries for in-library use, at a charge of $2.00 per request. Requests may be placed in the Special Collections room or by contacting:
