The Special Collections Room is operated on an independent research basis. Limited assistance is provided by library staff and approximately 20 volunteers.
The Special Collections Room, which accommodates up to 40 people, features microfiche and microfilm reader/printer/scanners, a photocopier, wireless Internet and Internet access computers. Patrons using the collection are asked to keep the materials in the room. Groups are invited to use the Special Collections Room, as well as individuals.
Charts, forms and other materials are available for photocopying. A list
of genealogists who will do research for a fee is also available.

Periodically the library hosts a series of workshops to help people begin, continue or advance their genealogical searches.
Free and open to the public, these sessions take place in the library’s public meeting rooms, 2200 Pioneer Ave. in Cheyenne.
Pre-registration is required for each session and may be done by calling 634-3561 or by visiting the “Ask Here” desk on the third floor.
